This Privacy Policy explains which personal data we collect when you visit alere.gr or contact us, why we use it, how long we keep it and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Greek Law 4624/2019.

ALERE is a distributor and commercial agent of Provimi B.V. products. This policy covers only the processing carried out by ALERE through the alere.gr website.

2. What data we collect and why

When you contact us directly, we process the information you provide (name, contact details, company name, content of the communication) to handle your request and, if we start working together, to perform our agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

c) Technical data and security

When you visit the website, technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and date and time is logged automatically. It is used to operate the website, protect it against malicious activity and troubleshoot technical issues, based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

d) Visitor statistics

We use Jetpack Stats (Automattic) to understand, in aggregate, how many visitors view each page and where they come from (e.g. country, device type, referring website). We do not use statistics to identify you personally or for advertising. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

e) Third-party content

Some pages include content from third-party providers: a Google Maps map on the contact page and Facebook buttons on news articles. This content is loaded only after you give your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); your browser then connects to the providers’ servers, which receive your IP address and may use cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time. The website fonts are hosted on our own server. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. Only the following may have access to it:

Some of the providers above (Microsoft, Automattic, Google, Meta) may process data in the United States. In such cases transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), website security measures, regular software updates and access limited to authorised persons.

8. Children

The website is intended for livestock industry professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

9. Links to other websites

The website contains links to third-party websites and social networks (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn). We are not responsible for their privacy practices and recommend reading their policies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
